Science Educators Conference, Hutt City, 10-13 July 2016
Wellington's beautiful Hutt Valley, the heartland of New Zealand Science, offered "Earth-shattering Science!" to ~300 educators from all over New Zealand. In addition to eye-opening keynote speakers including Dr. Michael Person (MIT) and Alom Shaha (Writer & Filmmaker, UK), a wide range of workshops, seminars and field trips ensured exciting learning/sharing experiences for all types of science educators.  The conference location also allowed participants the opportunity to go on "local science visits" to nearby science organisations as an option within the core conference programme.  SCICON is a biennial conference for New Zealand Science Educators and is an associated event with the New Zealand Association of Educators (NZASE).

2015 New Zealand Antarctic Science Conference, Christchurch 29 June - 2 July 2015
As we face the prospect of changing global oceans and climate, much work still needs to be undertaken to understand the impacts of those changes on Antarctica’s physical and biological systems and in turn the global reach of changes to Antarctica’s cryosphere and biosphere.
This four-day 2015 Antarctic Science Conference was co-sponsored by NZARI and Antarctica New Zealand and hosted by the University of Canterbury on 29 June – 2 July 2015. The conference welcomed 120 delegates who participated in invited talks, panel discussions, poster sessions and workshops. #antsci2015

New Zealand Marine Sciences Society Conferences

NZMSS hosts an annual conference that occurs in a different location each year.  Kerry's involvement with the society started back when she was a society member and working in a marine ecology research group.  The 2008 conference was her first opportunity managing a conference and it has been a pleasure to continue to work closely with the society since then (2008-11, 2014-17).
